Court Dress Meets Contemporary

Speaking of Jason Wu, this dress from his recent Autumn/Winter 09 collection bears a certain resemblance with this 1930s court dress from Kensington Palace's Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection. This diaphanous dress of tulle lace was designed to be at its full advantage in the evening where the delicate silver bugle beading would shimmer and sparkle in the soft candlelight.

    are there photos of the ceremonial dress collection? I'm finally finding dresses that inspire me and i actually would want to wear...maybe a belong to the '30s!
